12.06.2026 Senior Bulletin

Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,

As another busy week at Truro School flies by, it’s good to take a moment to reflect on and celebrate the breadth of opportunities available to our pupils, who continue to embrace them with enthusiasm, curiosity and resilience. From last weekend’s adventures in Brittany and the Mendips, to the community Art project, an incredible Junior Play and an impressive Year 7 Gala Concert, it is a reminder of the remarkable range of talent and creativity in our school.

This week has also been Healthy Eating Week, with a range of activities promoting wellbeing. Pupils have taken part in competitions and enjoyed hands-on cooking sessions at the Cookery School. Chapel services, led by our Sixth Form students, explored Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and highlighted the importance of food and health in supporting wellbeing and success.

We were also delighted to welcome our Prep and Pre-Prep pupils to the Senior site for their Sports Days this year. Despite the slightly mizzly weather at times, they were joyful occasions, full of energy and fun, and it was lovely to see the pupils supporting one another.

All these moments remind us what a special 3-18 community we are part of, where pupils and staff come together to grow, support and encourage each other.

Looking ahead, we wish the very best of luck to our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award young people completing their qualifying expedition this weekend. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved so far.

Alongside this, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all staff involved in these, and many more, trips and events currently taking place. These experiences reflect significant planning, thought and a genuine commitment to enriching young lives. I also recognise the support of families, whose encouragement makes these opportunities possible. Thank you.

As one of our Head of Competition Houses reminded their team this week, achievement comes in many forms. It is not just about winning, but about kindness, effort, perseverance and personal growth. It is reflected in the quiet determination to keep going, the courage to try something new, and the support we show one another along the way. These are the qualities that underpin success in its broadest sense and help shape the kind of community we are proud to be part of.

Which leads me to our GCSE and A-Level students in the final stretch of your exams – we are thinking of you and remain here to support you. We look forward to celebrating with you in the summer.

Thank you for your continued support and wishing you a sunny weekend,

Mrs Rachel Henderson

Director of HR

Sports Day: Tuesday, 23 June

We are looking forward to celebrating this year’s Sports Day on Tuesday, 23 June.

The day will begin with a programme of fun activities in the morning before moving into the eagerly anticipated Track Finals, which feature the 100m and House Relay events, during the afternoon.

All pupils should arrive at school wearing their full Truro School PE kit. Throughout this term, pupils have been taking part in field events and track time trials during PE and Games lessons. Those who have qualified for the Track Finals will be informed via lists available on the SBA screens, Teams pages and the PE Office noticeboard.

We are delighted to invite parents and families to join us for the afternoon events.

Spectators are welcome on the 1st Team pitch from 1.15pm, with racing scheduled to start at 1.45pm. To help create a fantastic atmosphere, we encourage supporters to wear House colours.

Please feel free to bring a chair or picnic blanket for your comfort. On arrival, kindly sign in either at the SBA or the Cafe. Additional parking will be available in the overflow car park.

We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a memorable afternoon.
