Truro School Community Day is a vibrant festival-style celebration bringing together pupils, staff, families, alumni and the wider community. Everyone is welcome.

Building on last year’s success, the day is packed with live performances, family entertainment, games, food, and festival fun.

The Main Stage hosts a full afternoon of performances, followed by a Family Silent Disco and Truro School Showcase, and finishes with Funk and Soul Band, Groove Diggers. View the programme below for more details.

During the afternoon, visitors can enjoy an exciting range of interactive activities, including climbing and archery with Vertical Blue plus colourful circus workshops with Cirk Hes and Hotch Potch Performance. Families can also enjoy roaming entertainment from mathematical magician Jon Martin Magician, alongside street performers, live music, buskers and community showcases across the campus.

For younger visitors and energetic adventurers, the hugely popular Little Eden Entertainment Bounce Parc will transform the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre into an inflatable fun zone, with a dedicated SEN and Toddler session taking place before the main event begins.

Guests can also explore a wide range of artisan stalls and enjoy festival food and drink, football displays, swimming pool inflatables, treasure hunts, and much more.

Food and drink is available throughout the afternoon, with a wide selection including pasties and BBQ, pizza and street food, horsebox bar, cakes and ice cream, candy floss and popcorn, and hot and cold drinks. An additional bar service and street food van will run from 5pm to 9pm.

Community Day FAQs

What time does Community day open?

Community Day opens at 12pm. Games and activities run from 12pm until 5pm. Live music on the main stage runs from 12pm until 9pm.

Is there an entrance fee?

No. The day is free to enter and lots of the entertainment is also free, including the circus workshops. Some activities, such as the climbing wall and swimming pool inflatables, do incur a charge. There is also a charge to enter the bounce parc.

Can I pay with cash or card?
You can pay for most activities with a card or with cash; there are also some 50p a go games which are cash only, so do bring some change!
Is community day Family Friendly?

Absolutely!! There are activities for all ages and everyone is welcome.

Can I Pre-book Activities?

Pre booking is available for the bounce parc but you can also pay on the day.

Pre-booking is advisable for the swimming pool inflatable to avoid disappointment.

Where can I park?

There is limited parking on site. Our marshals will be on hand to help guide parking and manage the flow of traffic, so please drive slowly and follow their instructions.

Due to limited on-site parking, you may prefer to park in town and walk up to the school. Additional parking is also available at Truro Rugby Club.

Accessible parking is available on site.

Can I bring my dog?

No. Although we love dogs, Truro School is a dog free site.

Is there any security?

We will have a security team in place on the day and for the evening performance. There is zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour. No glass is allowed on site and please do not bring your own alcohol or any illegal substances.

Is the site accessible?

We try our best to make the site as accessible as possible but unfortunately Truro School is located on a sloping site meaning there are a few sets of steps. Accessible parking is available and please do ask for guidance as to the best routes to take around the site to avoid steps.

What if it rains?

Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather. Hopefully the sun will shine on us, but if it doesn’t, we will move as many of our activities inside as possible.

The main stage is outside, so an umbrella or raincoat may be a wise choice of accessory!

What if I need first aid or I lose my child?

We will have trained first aiders on site to help. Truro School staff will be on hand and visible to help with any emergencies.

Is seating available?

We have plenty of seating throughout the site and in our food court areas. For the evening performance, if you are not dancing, a blanket to sit on would be a great thing to bring along!

What refreshments are available?

Throughout the afternoon, our two cafes and BBQ area will be open for pizza, pastries, nachos, hotdogs, cakes and snacks. The horsebox bar will be open from 12pm-9pm and we also have Toastie Time Cornwall joining us for the evening, providing amazing toasties and loaded fries.
