Physical Education

Truro School has a fine reputation for its sporting achievements at county, regional and national level. The school takes great pride in offering a broad range of sporting opportunities for all pupils, irrespective of their abilities.

Through our PE and games programme we want every pupil to develop their physical, social and emotional wellbeing. Ultimately to create confident and physically active youngsters with the necessary skills to be used throughout their whole lives.

Truro School is blessed with outstanding sporting facilities, as well as a group of knowledgeable and enthusiastic coaches. Comprehensive and competitive fixture lists are run across all major sports and all year groups all year round, augmented by major sporting tours.

Truro School has a fine tradition of achievement but there is far more to sport than the final result. Being part of a sports team provides the opportunity to meet new friends, develop skills and find new passions. As you leave school and progress through life, sport helps to instil many of the values that you will need; teamwork, resilience, creativity, a healthy body and mind and discipline to name but a few.

At Truro School we want all of our pupils to experience a broad range of sports and enjoy spending time with friends. It is important to us that pupils lead the way and help drive the sports they enjoy and encourage others to find ways to keep healthy and active.

We offer high level competitive opportunities, alongside local fixtures and recreational sport. There are many levels across the sports that we offer and you will be able to find the right path that suits you. Sport is important and it should sit alongside a balanced academic offering, which will allow you to achieve your potential, both in and outside the sporting arena. I hope you enjoy this snapshot of sport at our school. We of course can’t include everything on the website but if you are interested in joining our school and you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Whatever your decision, I wish you well with your academic journey and I hope you remain healthy and active.

Yours sincerely,
Dan Sanderson
