Sixth Form Perspectives

The best way to understand what life is really like as a Sixth Former at Truro School is to hear directly from the students themselves. Here, some of our Sixth Form students share their own experiences of Sixth Form.

These articles and videos explore different aspects of Sixth Form life, from the freedom and sense of community that come with greater independence, to outstanding sporting opportunities, arts and drama, and the leadership roles available to Sixth Form students.

Sixth Form Life

Hear directly from some of our Sixth Formers as they share what Sixth Form life at Truro School is really like – from new freedoms and opportunities to the community that supports them every step of the way.

Celia – Drama

“Joining the drama department was a wonderful way to find my place and become part of a real community.”

Sixth Form student Celia talks about her journey and experience studying Drama – from taking part in extracurricular shows and building friendships across year groups, to exploring backstage roles like costume design, and even producing and directing her own play.

Arlo – Sixth Form Life

“I don’t think I’d be as sure about what I want to do next if I hadn’t come here.”

Sixth Form student Arlo reflects on the opportunities, independence, friendships and support that have shaped his Sixth Form journey – and helped him feel confident about what’s next.

Maddy and Josh – Sport

“The PE staff are so good when it comes to balancing sport and studies. They really understand, and you feel really supported.”

We believe studying at Sixth Form shouldn’t mean giving up your other co-curricular interests, including sport. Physical activity plays a vital role in supporting exam performance, building resilience, and promoting wellbeing.
