Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,
It has been another busy and positive week at Truro School, with pupils making the most of the opportunities on offer both in and out of the classroom.
It was lovely to see the competition house assemblies back in full swing yesterday morning. During the assemblies, the houses celebrated recent achievements and launched sign-ups for Sports Day, debating, the Top House quiz, and upcoming music and drama events. The assemblies also reflected the growing number of leadership opportunities available to pupils, with many taking a more active role in organising and leading house activities and competitions.
This weekend, we wish all pupils taking part in the Ten Tors Challenge the very best of luck. It is an incredible event that calls for resilience, teamwork and determination, and we are hugely proud of all the preparation that has gone into it. We look forward to hearing how everyone gets on.
We are also pleased that the recent road repairs have made journeys to school much smoother. Thank you for being so patient while the work was taking place; we know it has made a noticeable difference to the start of the school day.
As the term continues, there are a few key dates and reminders to keep in mind:
Year 11 and 13 Examinations: We wish all pupils undertaking exams every success and encourage families to continue supporting positive routines and balance at home during this important time.
Fixtures and co-curricular events: The weeks ahead remain full of sporting fixtures, performances and wider co-curricular opportunities. We encourage pupils to continue getting involved and supporting one another. Please do take a look at the clubs and activities listed at the end of this bulletin.
Trips and residentials: Over the coming weeks, pupils will take part in a range of trips and residential visits, giving them valuable opportunities to build confidence, develop independence and strengthen friendships outside the classroom.
You can find details of all upcoming events on the school calendar here:
It has been wonderful to see pupils continuing to throw themselves into all aspects of school life this week. There is a real sense of energy and community around the school as we continue this exciting term.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Keeping Your Children Safe Online
Message from our CEOP Ambassadors: Keeping your children safe online
We would like to share some helpful guidance to support young people in navigating the online world safely. This may include being asked to join large WhatsApp groups, sometimes by people they do not know outside of our usual school community, which can expose them to potential risks.
We also recognise that, at times, young people may make mistakes, such as sharing images of themselves or others that are not appropriate. In PSHEE, we educate pupils on how to manage these risks and to think carefully before they act.
To help reinforce these messages at home, we are sharing a helpful age-appropriate guide from CEOP, along with links to support you in approaching what can sometimes be difficult conversations.
If, after reading this information, you have any concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to contact their tutor in the first instance.

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians
Thank you to those families who have returned awards your child may have won at last year’s Prep Sports Day or Speech Day.
The deadline of Wednesday, 22nd April has passed, and there are still many outstanding, so this is a plea for any remaining awards to be brought to the Prep Reception Office asap please.
If easier, awards may also be left at the Senior Reception Office. If applicable, please kindly ensure the award has been engraved prior to its return.
Many thanks in advance.
Kindest regards
