Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,
The Summer Term has continued at pace this week. Across the school, pupils have been fully engaged in a rich programme of academic focus, sporting competition, creative activity and community action. It has also been a pleasure to welcome a number of new starters this term, and we hope you are already feeling very much at home as part of our community.
Well done to our Year 10 pupils, who have approached their Domestic Exam Trials with determination and focus. These trials provide an important opportunity to consolidate learning and build confidence ahead of future assessments.
Our cricketers enjoyed a particularly memorable occasion as they welcomed the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) for a 1st XI fixture, a prestigious opportunity and valuable experience for all involved. Pupils across year groups also competed enthusiastically in their House Swimming Galas; results to follow next week. Many pupils have also been involved in Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Outdoor Education activities, including assemblies, briefings and practice expeditions running into the weekend. The co-curricular remains as vibrant as ever, with pupils taking part in LAMDA sessions, dance classes across a range of styles, music activities, and Wednesday Afternoon Activities, to name but a few.
Community values have been at the heart of the week, with Charity Week and Community Action Team Day encouraging pupils to engage thoughtfully with social and environmental causes. A huge thank you to our Sustainability Committee for leading these initiatives. Pupils and staff were also grateful for the thought-provoking Whole School Assembly delivered by the Head, which invited the community to reflect on shared values and the importance of working together to support one another.
As we look ahead to the coming weeks of term, we wish all those involved in GCSE and A-Level examinations every success.
Wishing you all a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend.
Mrs Emma Ellison
Assistant Head (Director of Studies)
