Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,
The Summer Ball last night was an exceptional event. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and to celebrate our Sixth Form leavers, who looked so smart and ready for the exciting journeys that lie ahead.
This morning, it was equally special to welcome so many parents to our inaugural Truro School Business Breakfast. It was a pleasure to meet and chat with so many parents who run businesses across Cornwall. The conversations were wide-ranging, showcasing the incredible diversity and strength of our business and parent community. We hope this will become a regular, termly event, providing a valuable opportunity for parents and alumni to connect across both the Prep and Senior Schools, beyond the usual year group networks. I was also able to share a little more about the business operations of the school, including how we manage our enterprise company and how we are always looking to collaborate, grow, and create opportunities that benefit both our community and Cornwall as a whole.
Following the Business Breakfast, I spent an enjoyable afternoon at the Cornwall Football Festival, which we were proud to host today. More than 20 primary schools from across the county joined us, and it was fantastic to see the energy, enthusiasm, and camaraderie on display. The way the teams supported each other, regardless of the results, was a real highlight.
Tomorrow, our end-of-year celebrations continue as we host our very first Truro School Family Day, from 11am. There will be a whole range of exciting activities for children and adults of all ages to enjoy. I am particularly looking forward to the screening of the Penguin Lessons film, which will be introduced by its author, who will also be joining us for a Q&A ahead of the showing.
Next week brings the final few days of what has been an exceptional year for everyone. On Wednesday, we look forward to gathering for Speech Day, which will be held in the Cathedral for the first time. It promises to be a moving and memorable occasion, as it always is.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and hopefully some sunshine for tomorrow’s Family Day.
Mr Kieran Topping
Chief Operating Officer
