Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,
As we reach the penultimate school week, it is a pleasure to reflect on the many moments that have brought our community together.
Last weekend’s Community Day was a truly special occasion. The spirit and enthusiasm across the school were unmistakable. From pupils and parents to staff and friends of the school and the community beyond, it was a powerful reminder of the strength of our community and how important it is that we create opportunities to connect, celebrate and enjoy time together. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it such a memorable day.
The heat also provided a backdrop to what was a highly successful Sports Day. While temperatures were challenging, pupils demonstrated resilience, determination and excellent sportsmanship throughout. It was wonderful to see such strong participation and encouragement from all involved. Congratulations again to School Competition House for winning Sports Day 2026.
The Prep School performed at the Burrell Theatre this week. Audiences were treated to a fantastic production of Bugsy Malone by our Year 6 pupils, where it was clear the pupils took as much joy from their performance as did the audience.
This week has also been one of significant milestones and celebrations in the Senior School. Our Year 11 pupils marked the end of their GCSEs with both a joyful Prom and a thoughtful Celebration Chapel Service. During the service, we heard from three pupils who shared personal reflections on their journeys through the school. Their words were inspiring, honest and a testament to the growth and character development we strive to nurture.
Today, we have said farewell to our Year 13 leavers, who have enjoyed their final day in school, having fun with friends, making memories to last a lifetime. Alongside this, they had a meaningful Leavers’ Service kindly led by Aubin De Gruchy. We now look forward to their Leavers’ Dinner in St Ives this evening, a well-deserved celebration after their hard work and commitment. We wish them all the very best as they prepare for the next stage of their journeys, and we hope they carry with them fond memories of their time here.
Beyond campus, our Gold Duke of Edinburgh teams are currently undertaking their final qualifying expedition in Snowdonia. We wish them every success as they complete this challenging and rewarding experience. We look forward to hearing about their adventures and achievements on their return.
It has been a week that perfectly encapsulates the richness of life at Truro School: achievement, creativity, resilience and, above all, community.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Wishing you all a restful weekend.

Final Week of Term: Useful Information
As we head into the final week of term, please note the following information to help with planning:
Uniform:
Pupils may continue to wear their school sports kit to school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, if they wish to. Full summer school uniform should be worn on Thursday and Friday, with blazers required for Speech Day on Friday. Thank you for your support in ensuring pupils arrive correctly dressed each day.
Monday – World AIMS Day:
World AIMS stands for Action in Methodist Schools, an annual event where pupils across Methodist schools explore a shared theme through engaging activities. This year’s focus is ‘Rights for ALL’, helping pupils learn about children’s rights and how they can make a positive difference in their communities and the wider world. Throughout the day, pupils will be off-timetable and take part in interactive, team-based activities designed to encourage compassion, collaboration and global awareness. More information will be shared with pupils during Form Time.
Thursday – End of Term Service:
The whole school will attend our End of Term Service at Truro Methodist Church during Periods 1 and 2 on Thursday morning. All pupils are expected to wear their full summer school uniform; sports kit should not be worn. Lessons will then continue as normal during Periods 3–6.
Friday – Speech Day and End of Term:
School will finish at 1.00pm on Friday, following Speech Day. Families and members of our wider community are warmly invited to attend the ceremony, and seats can be booked using the Burrell Theatre – Truro School Speech Day 2026. Prize winners were notified last week, and further information can be found in the Speech Day FAQs document (link here).
WAA, Clubs and Activities:
Please note that all WAA sessions, clubs and activities will run as normal until the end of Thursday. There will be no lunchtime or after-school clubs on Friday.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We wish all our pupils and families a wonderful, restful summer break when the term ends.
Lost Property: End of Term Reminder
Please note that all unclaimed lost property will be cleared at the end of term. We kindly ask that all items be collected before Friday 3 July.
During term time, items can be collected from:
– The Lost Property Holding Area (front of SBA) between 08h00 and 13h00.
– The Lost Property Container (left side of SBA) between 13h15 and 14h30.
Pupils will be notified if any named lost property has been found. Once notified, pupils are expected to collect their items within one week.
If you have any questions, please contact: [email protected].
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us reunite lost items with their owners before the end of term.
Message for Year 11 and Year 13 parents
As your child finishes Year 11 or Year 13, they may no longer need their scientific calculator. If this is the case, we would be delighted to receive it for recycling and reuse. Simply drop it into the collection box at Reception.
Thank you for your support.
