Keeping Cool in WAAs

As a heatwave grips the country, our Wednesday Afternoon Activities (WAAs) horse riding group have been helping their four-legged friends to beat the heat with a cooling bath.

Bathing a pony helps them cool down by transferring their internal body heat directly into the cool water and carrying it away through evaporation, and as the group got to work, it was clear that their efforts were greatly appreciated as temperatures ‘stable-ised’ and ponies looked cool, calm and ‘colt-lected’.
