In glorious sunshine (with hats, shade and water in abundance), pupils and students from Year 6 to Year 12 enjoyed a fantastic activity morning as part of Truro School’s annual Sports Day celebrations.
Designed to be inclusive, engaging and fun, the morning offered a wide range of activities, balanced with a healthy sense of competition. Pupils were able to choose the activities that suited them best, ensuring everyone could feel in their sporting element and fully enjoy the experience.
Across the school site, a variety of sports and activities were in full swing. Badminton and basketball took place in the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre (SBA), while the fitness suite and squash courts offered further opportunities for physical challenge. An inflatable obstacle course proved popular in the swimming pool, while orienteering challenged the mind and body.
The outdoor spaces were equally vibrant, with tennis, cricket, football, rounders and rugby taking place in our extensive school playing fields. The breadth of activities ensured there was something for everyone, encouraging participation, teamwork and enjoyment.
A highlight of the morning was the sea of house colours across the campus, as pupils and students proudly supported one another and gave their all to earn points for their houses ahead of the afternoon’s track events.
The event was made possible thanks to the raft of staff and students who helped to organise and marshal the activities, with special thanks to our incredible PE Department. The morning was a wonderful celebration of sport, community and house spirit, with pupils demonstrating a strong sense of belonging throughout.
We look forward to sharing more photos and news from the afternoon’s activities soon.
