Community Art Outreach

We were delighted to welcome pupils from Richard Lander School to our Art Department for a special Life Drawing workshop, led by Truro School Art Teacher, Mike Brett. The session was also supported by a team of dedicated Truro School pupil Art Leaders from Years 8 to 10.

Our Art Leaders have been developing their own skills through a life drawing club at school, further enriched by a recent visit to Penlee House Museum. This experience enabled them to confidently support and mentor the visiting pupils, sharing techniques and encouraging creative exploration throughout the workshop.

The session provided a valuable opportunity to bring together Cornwall’s budding young artists, fostering collaboration, creativity and a shared passion for art. It also offered meaningful leadership and mentorship opportunities for our pupils.

With this inspiring and informative workshop complete, the Richard Lander pupils were well prepared for their own visit to Penlee House, where they will continue to build on their skills.

Truro School extends its sincere thanks to Richard Lander School for joining us, and to Mr Brett and our exceptional Art Leaders for making the workshop such a success.
