Dear Parents & Carers,
Dear all,
Another week, another raft of adventures including Year 1 on a beach trip, Year 3 at Daubuz Moor, the Nursery Celebration Day, Mrs Knight and the Goblin Green Power race team at Predannack Airfield and ‘Move up Morning’. Governors’ meetings, sessions for new pupils and several visits from prospective parents have also kept us busy.
Of course, the main event has been the culmination of the Year 6’s preparation for their production of ‘Bugsy Malone’. Taking place in the Burrell Theatre at Truro School on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, with an additional Wednesday ‘matinee’ for the Prep School, all three audiences were treated to a feast of dramatic talent and entertainment. The production was superb, and it was particularly satisfying to witness the performers enjoying the production as much as the audience. I take this opportunity to congratulate the entire cast and the army of staff and volunteers who made the production such a success. Particular thanks go to the dynamic duo of Sue Rowe and Annabel Gregory, who were the driving force behind the entire project.
Turning to our school assemblies, and with the heatwave at the forefront of our minds, we took the opportunity to look at the science behind our seasons and the summer Solstice, using this topic to stoke our fires of curiosity.

In our increasingly busy lives, it is all too easy to accept the things that happen around us without challenging ourselves to understand what is happening and why. The championing of curiosity remains a constant theme here at school, and I hope the children will maintain their inquisitiveness and interest throughout the forthcoming summer holidays. I hope that you will have the opportunity to encourage them to learn about the geography, history, and culture of any places you may visit, whether at home or abroad.
Looking to the future, next week provides a number of opportunities for you to join us here at Treliske House. Monday, 29th of June brings the Summer Concert, which will take place from 2:30pm in the Sports Hall. Tuesday, the 30th of June, plays host to our Meet the Teacher event, and Speech Day begins at 2.00pm in the Sports Hall on Thursday, the 2nd of July. Please see the Bulletin and year group messages for further information.
Finally, please note we return to regular school uniform as of Monday morning (29th June), and with the Summer Concert taking place in the afternoon, it is essential that we are looking ‘shipshape and in Bristol fashion’. Please ensure that children are dressed in school shoes and ties (along with the rest of their regular uniform, of course!).
I look forward to seeing you all in the days ahead and, in the meantime, wish you a very happy weekend with your lovely children.
With every good wish,
Rob Morse
