Dear Parents & Carers,
Dear all,
Fun Fit, Nessy, Prep School Harvest Festival (with Rev Helen dressed as a lobster!), U8 and U9 hockey at Plymouth Marjons, U8 and U9 rugby at Plymouth College, a visit from Dan Simons (the Truro School Prep Head elect), visits from prospective parents and a raft of after-school clubs and activities, and that was just on Thursday!
Add in the parent-teacher meetings, a raft of visits (including prospective parents and the new CEO and Strategic Projects Director of the Methodist Independent Schools Trust), rugby at Polwhele House, STAR Club and the Year 1 trip to Tolcarne beach (not to mention Sunday’s Pentathlon GB’s biathlon at Taunton School). One can appreciate what a busy, interesting and exciting week we have enjoyed.
I take this opportunity to thank you for your support across these and all school activities, and especially for your generosity in supporting our two charitable events in recent weeks: the non-uniform day raised over £600 for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust Children’s Cancer Charity and yesterday’s Harvest Festival featured thousands of donated items of foodstuffs and toiletries. Your kindness is genuinely appreciated.
Continuing this theme, our assemblies this week have focused on what success and prosperity really mean. Having explored the trappings of fame and fortune, we decided that such things are actually rooted in integrity, kindness, courage, loyalty and service. Furthermore, we agreed that small acts of kindness make a positive difference to our friends, our school and our families.

This is particularly so when one considers the fact that such acts are often contagious and more often than not, one small act of kindness inspires another.
Leaning heavily on Dr Felix Wall’s ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ movement, we have tasked ourselves to do something each day that will make a positive difference to people around us.
It has been a pleasure to witness the children engaging in this challenge, and I truly hope that you may also see some evidence of it in the days ahead.
I wish you and your lovely children a weekend full of kindness and happiness.
With every good wish,
Rob
