Dear Parents & Carers,
After the splendid sunshine of the half term break, returning to school in the rain and wind has made it feel rather like autumn. It is a jolly good job that the children have been in such good form, and those here with us at Treliske House have quickly got back into the swing of working hard and having plenty of fun.
Of course, we have not had a full complement because the Year 6 pupils and a raft of accompanying staff have been busy across the Channel, where they have enjoyed a fantastic week in Normandy. Visits to Mont-Saint-Michel and local landmarks have been combined with teambuilding, barbecues, crepes, ice creams, local market challenges and plenty of sunshine. We look forward to welcoming them back late on Friday evening.
Our assemblies this week have focused on the opportunity for each year group to ‘step up’ as part of their preparations for the next academic year. With Year 6 overseas, Year 5 has taken on the role of leading the school, and we have reiterated the importance of each individual respecting and valuing their peers and the younger children in the school. This has tied in with our drive to ‘do something today that will make us proud in the future’, and I am delighted to report that all the children have responded in superb fashion.

Turning to next week, our thoughts will be with the Year 6 children as they travel to the Senior School for their exciting transition taster days, and later in the week, we look forward to welcoming you to the Senior School for our Sports Days (Pre-Prep on Thursday the 11th and Prep School on Friday the 12th – please see previous correspondence for details). Things will naturally be different to the norm, but this provides an opportunity for both children and families to spend some time at the Senior School and for us to benefit from their impressive facilities. Most importantly, it allows us to hold our annual sporting events and, we hope, to have lots of fun along the way.
Before that, however, we head off to the Royal Cornwall Show, and I hope that any families and friends at the showground will visit the Truro School stand (416). Andy Johnson and I, along with the Truro School team, will be hosting a drinks reception between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday 6th June. Dan Simons, the Truro School Prep Head elect, will also join us in the middle of the day. We all hope to see many of you there.
With every good wish,
Rob Morse

Pentominoes
HOW TO TAKE PART:
You can find the weekly Pentominoes challenge HERE every week in the Notices section of the Online School Bulletin.
To access the weekly challenge, you will need to click on the VIEW option below to bring up the weekly challenge.
These can then be printed at home and enjoyed. Please note that they need to be printed off as A3, 100% size (not fit to scale).
If you do not have an A3 printer at home, there are ready-printed copies in the Prep Reception Office that your children can collect on a Friday and bring home.
Finally, hints on how to solve the puzzle will be available each week. These will also be here in the Notices section should you get stuck!
Please take a photo of the completed challenge and email it to Miss Ryder at [email protected]
