It has been a busy week at Truro School Pre-Prep, with harvest celebrations, patterns, adjectives and healthy eating all on the timetable.
In Nursery, the children have been using djembe drums to create music, learning how to make loud and quiet sounds. They have also been finding out about Harvest Festival, talking about where fruit and vegetables come from, and singing harvest songs.
Reception have also been keeping a steady beat on the djembe drums in music, while in maths they have been noticing patterns in nature and making their own repeating patterns.
In Year 1, literacy has focused on adjectives, with pupils collecting objects from the wild wood and using their senses to describe them. In maths, they have been finding more than and less than numbers to 20, learning that crocodiles always eat the bigger numbers!
Year 2 have been exploring the importance of a healthy lifestyle in science, visiting the Prep kitchen to interview Alex, our new chef, and Mrs Bluck about how they create a balanced and nutritious menu. In maths, they have been learning about time and practising their times tables.
Thank you to all our pupils for their enthusiasm this week, and to families for their continued support.
