The paparazzi were out in force as our Reception stars and their families gathered in the Pre-Prep Assembly Hall for the World Premiere of the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch, a Reception ‘Pupit’ Show.
Entirely pupil-led, the film was the product of our pupils’ creativity and engagement with their much-loved class story of the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. Inspired by their in-class learning, pupils spontaneously created a re-enactment of the story, much to the delight of our Reception Class teachers, Ms Williams and Mrs Banks, who rushed to capture the moment.
The result was a glorious film, re-telling the story and the sense of pride as pupils strutted up the red carpet, dressed in their finest, was palpable. After their arrival and photo opportunity, pupils snuggled on their loved ones’ laps for some well-earned popcorn as the film began.
It was a wonderful afternoon that perfectly encapsulates how pupil-led learning sits at the heart of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. The creativity, confidence and courage our pupils showed throughout was a joy to see.
A huge thanks to our incredible staff, our amazing pupils and their families for making the event a truly sparkling affair!
