Our Nursery Celebration Day at Truro School Pre-Prep was a joyful and colourful occasion, as pupils welcomed their families to share in a special moment marking the end of their year in Nursery.
Dressed in vibrant tie-dye t-shirts they had made with Mrs Nixon, the children proudly showcased not only their creativity, but the confidence and independence they have developed throughout the year. The day was a true celebration of all they have learnt and discovered, both in and beyond the classroom.
At Truro School Pre-Prep, we believe that the journey towards a lifelong love of learning begins in Nursery. By placing children, creativity and development at the heart of our approach, our Early Years team builds a strong foundation for communication, storytelling and early literacy from the very earliest stages. This teacher-led journey ensures that children are guided with care and expertise, while still being given the freedom to explore, imagine and grow.
We are committed to nurturing the whole child, supporting every pupil academically, socially and emotionally from their very first days in Nursery and throughout their Early Years experience. Our small class sizes allow staff to build strong, meaningful relationships with each child, ensuring personalised attention and a deep understanding of individual needs.
Our enriched, teacher-led curriculum begins in Nursery and includes specialist teaching in areas such as PE, swimming and modern foreign languages, broadening children’s experiences and building confidence across a wide range of skills.
This is complemented by our exceptional learning environment, where outstanding outdoor spaces and Forest School provision play a central role. Regular opportunities for outdoor learning encourage exploration, resilience and a meaningful connection with the natural world, and it was clear how proud and confident our children are in this space as they welcomed their families for their Celebration Day.
With classrooms that open directly onto our extensive outdoor areas, children benefit from a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor learning. Alongside this, our co-curricular programme and high-quality wraparound care provide further opportunities for children to play, learn and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
It was a pleasure to see our Nursery pupils so confidently sharing their favourite spaces and experiences with their families, guiding them through their world with pride and enthusiasm. The day captured the essence of our Pre-Prep: a place where every child is known, supported and inspired.
Our sincere thanks go to Mrs Nixon for her creativity and support, to our dedicated Pre-Prep staff, and to all the families who joined us to celebrate such a special milestone.
