Dear Parents & Carers,
So much for ‘winding down’ to the holidays – we have most certainly travelled in the other direction and have increased rather than decreased the pace, doing everything we can to fill every available minute.
Among other things, the last week has seen us squeeze in the Year 6 ‘Bake Off’, Year 2’s ‘cosy clothes’ day, the Prep School Summer Concert (which saw every single child take to the stage), athletes at the National Schools Finals at Birmingham, lunchtime barbeques, the Prep School Speech Day (featuring guest speaker Melissa Keveren CO14), final assembly and the ‘guard of honour’ for our Year 6 leavers.
All of this has taken place amongst a school filled with laughter and geniality; believe me when I tell you that this is not always the norm, especially when everyone is tired and routines are adjusted. It is a testament to the staff and, of course, the children, and I take this opportunity to thank them, along with you, as parents and families, for what has been an incredibly successful and enjoyable year.
Further reflections on the year can be found in my end of term letter, which will be sent under separate cover and again, in response to requests from parents, this also includes further information on school shoes for September.
Before then, I wish you all a wonderful summer with your lovely children.
With every good wish,
Rob
