12.09.2025 Senior Bulletin

Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,

It has been a real joy to welcome our pupils back after the summer holidays. The corridors and classrooms are once again buzzing with energy and enthusiasm, and it is wonderful to see our young people looking so smart and fully engaged in their learning.

There is much to look forward to over the coming weeks, with important events and opportunities planned for every year group. You will have received an email from your child’s Head of Year with further details of this term’s events, including dates for our welcome meetings. We always enjoy meeting parents at these events and hope you find them valuable.

For those of you who are new to the Bulletin, please note, you can scroll down the page to find our weekly calendar, stories and notices. All of the Bulletins, and lots of other useful information, such as Term Dates, Uniform, Transport and links to the iSAMS Parent Portal can also be found in the parent section of the Truro School website.

Supporting Pupils

As the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, I have lead responsibility for the safeguarding and child protection of all pupils. I work with staff to guide support for pupils and meet regularly with pupils and colleagues from other agencies to ensure we hold all the necessary information to support our young people while they are in our care.

Our relationship with parents is key to building a strong support network around your child. You can help us by:

-Supporting appropriate and responsible use of mobile phones
-Talking with your child about online safety and how to make good choices
-Ensuring they are clear about their end-of-day arrangements and travel home
-Letting us know about any concerns so that we can work together

At school, we have a fantastic pastoral and safeguarding team ready to support pupils. Whatever the problem, pupils are encouraged to seek support through their tutor, Head of Year, a trusted member of staff, or use our dedicated support email: [email protected]

School Council

Next week, we are launching our School Council, bringing together representatives from different tutor groups and year groups. The Council is one way in which pupils can share their ideas and help shape how we continue to build a safe, happy, and inspiring learning community.  I will update parents on the progress of our school council over this academic year.

Finally, thank you for your continued support in helping your child make such a positive start to the term.

I hope you and your family have a lovely weekend.

Miss E Mitchell

Deputy Head Pastoral

Parents On-Site During the School Day

A polite reminder that parents should not be on-site during the school day (8.45am – 5.00pm) unless under the following circumstances:

· You have a scheduled appointment with a member of staff. In this case, you must sign in at Reception at the front of the school.
· You are spectating at a school sports fixture. In this case, you must sign in and out at the SBA Sports Centre Reception.
· You are visiting the Truro School Café during its opening hours (8.00am – 10.30am and 3.00pm – 4.15pm). If visiting the Café, you must sign in and out using the tablet in the Café. Parents and visitors should not be in the Café outside of these hours.

If you are collecting your child from school, please park and wait in the designated parking area outside of the Sports Centre.

Our pupils are taught about site supervision and safety including what to do if they see an adult on site during the day without a visitor badge or staff badge. Please help our pupils to keep safe by following these safeguarding procedures.

Thank you.
