Dear Parents & Carers,
After a lovely half term break, it has been a pleasure to have almost all the children back at school and, those here with us at Treliske House, have quickly got back into the swing of working hard and having plenty of fun.
Of course, we have not had a full complement because the Year 6 pupils and a raft of accompanying staff have been busy across the Channel where they have enjoyed a fantastic week in Normandy. Visits to Mont-Saint-Michel and local landmarks have been interspersed with teambuilding, cheese and caramel making (and tasting!), barbecues, crepes, ice creams, supermarket challenges and plenty of sunshine. We look forward to welcoming them back to the fold late on Friday evening.
Our assemblies this week have provided the opportunity to return to the theme of ‘respect for others’, with the Pre-Prep revisiting ‘The Golden Rule’ and the Prep School looking through the lens of ‘Protected Characteristics’ and ‘Fundamental British Values’. We also explored algorithms and social media, and the importance of standing up for others and for what we know is right (touching on the negative influences of people such as Andrew Tate and the more positive messages from lecturers such as Mona Siddiqui).
Tying in with the focus on respect for others, has been the opportunity for each year group to ‘step up’ as part of their preparations for the next academic year. With Year 6 overseas, Year 5 have taken on monitor roles and we have reiterated the importance of each individual respecting and valuing their peers and the younger children in the school.
Continuing on this theme and turning to next week, we have transition days for the Year 6 pupils moving onto the Senior School, and a ‘Move up Morning’ for our current pupils (this will take place within the bounds of the normal day – no input from parents and carers is required).

Next week also brings the Year 2 Leavers’ Assembly, the Cornwall county cricket hardball final and both Pre-Prep and Prep School Sports Days (more information later in this Bulletin). As if that wasn’t enough, next Saturday hosts the Friends of Truro School Summer Fête here at Truro School Prep. I hope that we will see you trackside on Thursday and Friday and at the FTS Fête on Saturday.
Before that, however, we head off to the Royal Cornwall Show and I hope that any families and friends at the showground will visit the Truro School stand (#422). Andy Johnson and I, along with the Truro School team, will be hosting a drinks reception between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday 7th June. We hope to see many of you there.
I am delighted to inform you that Truro School Prep will, for the second year in a row, feature in the annual Tatler Schools Guide. Appearing gives us all (according to Tatler) the opportunity to ensure your favourite teachers and schools receive a nomination and a coveted place on the podium at the awards night in October.
Voting is open until the 29th of August, via the link below:

Finally, with the end of term fast approaching and lots of events to look forward to, I ask that you please scroll down this Bulletin to the Notices Section as it contains useful information about forthcoming events.
With every good wish,
