Dear Parents & Carers,
A very warm welcome to the first edition of the Truro School Prep Bulletin for the academic year 2025/26.
As I wrote yesterday, it has been an absolute pleasure to welcome your children back to school (in spite of the downpours), and rarely, if ever, have I witnessed such positivity and enjoyment at the start of a new academic year.
The term for the Truro School Prep staff started somewhat earlier than for the children, and we completed our preparations with a full programme of Inset, which included sessions targeting this year’s action plan, ISAMS, first-aid, safeguarding, SEND, and ISI preparation. Important as these staff development sessions are, there is nothing that compares to a full and active school. The staff, as well as the children, have very much enjoyed these first few days of term.

With regard to our start of term messages, our focus in assemblies and form tutor time has been on making the most of our opportunities, of service to others, and the importance of teamwork. These themes, and related topics, will be delivered in an age-appropriate fashion throughout the school this term, and I will endeavour to keep you in the loop with our messaging and progress.
Friends of Truro School
It was a pleasure to see many of you at the Friends of Truro School (FTS) coffee morning today. For those of you who were unable to make it, please make note of the FTS barbecue and picnic on Friday, the 12th, and the Macmillan coffee morning on Friday, 26th September.
Finally, I hope you will excuse me sharing my current favourite joke with you (as I did with the Prep School children on the first morning of term):
Q. What do Alexander the Great, William the Conqueror, and Winnie the Pooh have in common?
A. The same middle name, of course!
With every good wish,
Rob Morse
