Year 12 students welcomed Rob Clark, parent of Flora and Jasmine, to Truro School as part of their Electronics in Industry Wellbeing, Activities and Adventure (WAA) course.
Rob, who works for Allen & Heath in Penryn, shared his expertise with students as they began constructing a professional audio mixing desk from kit form. The project required careful soldering of components onto three circuit boards before assembling the mechanical casing.
Drawing on his industry experience, Rob introduced students to practical electronics, demonstrating soldering techniques and fault-finding skills while offering valuable insight into the design and manufacture of audio equipment.
A huge thank you to Rob and Allen & Heath. The project will continue in September when students visit Allen & Heath’s Penryn headquarters to test their completed mixing desks and enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the company’s facilities.
