We are getting ready to welcome all of the Year 6 pupils, who are thinking about their next step into Year 7 at Truro School, to our exciting Discovery Sessions.
Held on Saturday 7 November, our Discovery Sessions are a relaxed and welcoming event for anyone interested in joining us in Year 7. On the day, pupils will take part in two fun activities and have a drink and snack in the Dining Hall.
Pupils will meet members of our teaching staff, get to know the Senior School site and build confidence ahead of entrance assessments in January. Parents are welcome to stay and join members of our Admissions Team in the Chapel for a short talk on the transition journey and what to expect over the coming months.
The sessions are open to any Year 6 pupils and are designed for families who want to discover more about Truro School as an option for Year 7.
The Discovery Sessions are just one step in a carefully managed admissions process, designed to help children feel known, supported and confident at every stage.
This will include an assessment morning on Saturday 16 January, which includes short written tasks, a group activity and computer-based standardised Cognitive Ability Tests (CAT4), which help us support each child’s learning once they join us.
Offer letters are sent on Friday 29 January, and pupils who will be joining in September are invited to a taster day on Monday 14 or Tuesday 15 June, as a further chance to meet future classmates, experience Senior School life and begin forming new friendships.
Our Admissions Team may already have emailed you a sign-up link to join us for the Discovery Sessions. If not, please email [email protected] or call 01872 246062 to find out more and register your interest.
