Ms Lianne Knibb

Lianne Knibb is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching, leadership, and school improvement. Originally from Cornwall, she began her career in theatre as a performer and director before transitioning to education.

Lianne's leadership journey started as Head of Drama in a London all-boys school, followed by a role as Head of Drama and Performing Arts at a co-ed school in Cornwall. She then moved to Dubai, where she took on senior leadership roles, including Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Principal, while gaining expertise in both the British National Curriculum and International Baccalaureate.

Lianne furthered her leadership credentials by completing the NPQSL, a Masters in Education Leadership and Management, and the NPQH (Headship). She went on to serve as Principal of an independent IB school in Italy before returning to Cornwall.

After nearly 15 years overseas, with over 25 years working in Education Lianne relocated back to Cornwall and became a governor at Truro School and member of the Education Committee. She initially became a School Improvement Lead in a MAT covering primary and secondary schools, which led to being a Teaching Hub Lead for OneCornwall, supporting the Early Career Teacher Framework and Appropriate Body. She is now the Director of Cornwall SCITT, overseeing the training and development of aspiring educators delivering Initial Teacher Training.

Term of governance expires on 31st August 2027.
