Year 7 Activity Day 2026

Year 7 pupils celebrated their successful start to Senior School life with a Teambuilding Adventure Day at Tomperrow in Truro.

Held across two days, pupils rotated through bushcraft, survival bracelet making, orienteering and a First Aid session, with each activity tasking them to problem-solve, communicate and support one another as they got to know their peers and teachers even better. The First Aid session gave pupils practical, real-world skills, from basic response techniques to working calmly as a team under pressure, while fire lighting, map reading and navigation rounded out a day built on hands-on learning. Everyone finished with roasted fruit and marshmallows on the fire.

The day’s value went beyond the activities themselves. For pupils still in their first few weeks at Truro School, it offered a chance to get to know each other and themselves better, to challenge themselves through new and sometimes tricky experiences, and to come away feeling empowered, more confident, more connected and ready for the year ahead.
