House Spirit Continues to Thrive at Truro School

It has been another busy week in the Houses at Truro School, with friendly competition and a strong sense of belonging on show across the year groups. On Thursday, Heads of House met their House Representatives in the Burrell Theatre, where more than 50 pupils have volunteered for roles within the House system. The meeting also marked the start of voting for a House anthem.

Sixth Form students have been taking part in the House Traitors competition, a game of intrigue that will run until Christmas and has already created plenty of excitement. On Friday, more than 70 Year 8 pupils took part in the House dodgeball competition, with almost 30 pupils and staff coming along to cheer them on in an event full of energy and House spirit.

At Truro School, the House system brings pupils of all ages together, building inter-year friendships, camaraderie and leadership opportunities, with older students mentoring younger pupils and everyone encouraged to get involved. It reflects our Know. Challenge. Empower. ethos, helping every pupil to feel known and part of a team, challenged to try new things, and empowered to take on responsibility.
