Welcome BBQ Brings Together the Prep Community

Staff, pupils and families celebrated the first full week of the new academic year as the Friends of Truro School (FTS) hosted their annual Welcome BBQ and Picnic at Truro School Prep.

Held in the Pre-Prep playground, the event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the start of another exciting year and bring our community together, as we welcomed back familiar faces and extended a warm hello to the many new families joining us this September.

Families tucked into a delicious BBQ or picnic, while children let off steam on the bouncy castles and play equipment. For new starters in particular, it was a chance to make friends, meet teachers in a relaxed setting, and start to feel part of the Truro School family.

Events like this are a brilliant reminder of the role our parent community plays in helping new families feel welcome and providing a chance for pupils and parents to connect outside the classroom.

A huge thank you to FTS and all the staff volunteers who gave up their time to make the afternoon such a success. We’re looking forward to another year full of community events, friendships, and exciting opportunities ahead.
