Community Day 2026 Shines

Truro School was delighted to welcome pupils, families, alumni, and members of the wider Cornish community to a vibrant Community Day, held across the school site. Blessed with glorious sunshine, the event was a celebration of togetherness, showcasing the spirit and energy that epitomise the Truro School ethos.

The campus was alive with activity throughout the day, with something to enjoy around every corner. The Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre was transformed with a range of exciting inflatables, while budding athletes took part in a lively football skills workshop. In the Celebration Garden, families enjoyed bubbles with Wendy the Fairy and bivouac building, and visitors could even try their hand at a climbing wall set up outside the Chapel.

A wide variety of stalls added to the festival atmosphere, with local makers, artisans, and charities, as well as some sumptuous food stands, offering plenty to explore and enjoy. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with and support our incredible Cornish community.

At the heart of the day was the main stage, which hosted a dynamic programme of performances. Pupils, students, and alumni took to the stage alongside community performers, delivering an inspiring showcase of talent across a range of styles and genres, from dance and musical theatre to live rock performances.

As the day continued into the evening, guests were treated to further fantastic performances alongside a silent disco, bringing a joyful close to the day.

The success of Community Day is thanks to the hard work of Truro School staff and supporters, from organising parking to setting up and running stalls. Special thanks also go to our pupils and students, whose enthusiasm, helpfulness, and performances made them shining ambassadors for the school. Their courage, confidence, and community spirit were a shining example of the qualities that Truro School is so proud to nurture.
