Congratulations to all our pupils who successfully completed their four-day Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award practice expedition on Dartmoor during the Easter break. This was a significant achievement, and they rose to the challenge with outstanding resilience, teamwork, and determination.
Despite particularly testing weather on day two, spirits remained high, and the group pushed on with real determination, though the drying room at the end of the day was certainly well appreciated!
Practice expeditions are a vital part of the DofE journey, offering participants the chance to develop essential navigation, campcraft, and decision-making skills in a real-world setting. They also provide valuable opportunities to reflect, learn from mistakes, and build confidence ahead of the qualifying expedition.
We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved. Well done to everyone.
