Our pupils’ sporting successes are continuing into February.
Congratulations to Year 11 pupil Jacob, who won the U18 boys singles title at the Bideford Regional Tournament. Jacob was crowned victorious, all without dropping a set! Well done, Jacob, on a fantastic achievement!
Huge congratulations to the KS4 squash team, who have followed in the footsteps of previous Truro School teams and have reached the National Schools Finals. In the semi-finals of the plate competition, the boys were emphatic winners against Marlborough College and Malvern College. Head of Squash Mr Stone said, “It’s really exciting for these talented players to have the opportunity to play in the finals competition hosted at Edgbaston Squash Club. They put in a great performance today and will need to work hard over the next month to get ready for the finals!”.
Good luck to both our U14 and U15 rugby sides, who have both made the county cup finals today. Go out and enjoy the experience; we are all behind you.
A fantastic update for Daisy H. She had rankings for Pentathlon GB at the weekend, and is now ranked 1st in the U19 category, 4th Junior and 8th senior in Great Britain.
On Saturday, Jonny C played in a West Cornwall Golf Club Stableford competition. His handicap at the time was 9. He had an amazing round (best yet) and shot 1 over! He also eagled the 12 hole as well. He won the competition and also had his handicap dropped to 6. Well done Jonny!
A big well done to Neala C, who competed in the Cornwall Schools table tennis championships. After a close-fought final, she won the U16 girls competition, putting table tennis and Truro School on the map. Next step the National School Championships in April. Well done Neala!
In fencing news, Daisy placed 2nd in the South West Championships. Congratulations Daisy on such amazing achievements!
A huge well done to the 9 x Year 10-13 pupils who travelled to Bournemouth on Friday to represent Truro School in the U19 netball South West regional finals. Mrs Tresidder, Mr Sanderson and Miss Bickley would like to thank all travelling pupils for being a pleasure to take away, coach and for being fantastic ambassadors for the school. The tournament offered the team a great opportunity to prepare for their next national bowl fixture taking place against Guildford High School. We wish the team the best of luck!
