Celebrating a Fruitful Harvest

Our Prep and Pre-Prep pupils celebrated Harvest in their chapel assemblies. Led by our school chaplain, Rev Helen, pupils were encouraged to think about how Harvest is a time to celebrate food and all the good things in our lives, and also a chance to thank the farmers and food producers and remember those who don’t have as much as we might do.

Suitably attired, Rev Helen asked pupils to think about what they were ‘grapeful’ for; with answers including ‘my home’, ‘my family’ and ‘popcorn’ being suggested by pupils. Thinking further about what they were thankful for, pupils were invited to bring leaves and then grapes to create a beautiful vine. In the Christian faith, Jesus is the vine, God the gardener, and followers are the branches. By remaining connected to the ‘vine’ and through acts of kindness to others, we can be fruitful and live good lives.

Well done to all of our pupils and families who contributed to our Prep Harvest collection. Items will be gathered up and donated to the Newquay Foodbank in the coming weeks.
