Our lucky Year 3 pupils visited Kresen Kernow, the Cornish archives, to explore Prehistoric Cornwall as part of their Prehistory topic.
Upon arrival, the pupils split into two groups, with one group visiting the strong room and the other exploring the Cornish reference library. In the strong room, they were able to view documents, maps and pictures of prehistoric sites in Cornwall, and in the library, looked at children’s books on the subject.
They then came together for a fascinating presentation on Prehistoric Cornwall and took part in a range of activities around the theme. They were able to handle a range of replica artefacts from the period, which included spears, axe heads and coins.
We would like to thank the staff at Kresen Kernow and the staff and pupils from our school who made the trip so enjoyable.
