A co-opted Governor appointed in 2022, Richard has recently retired as Vice Principal, Academic Director and Designated Safeguarding Lead at Somerhill. He has taught across the age ranges; his early career was as a Sixth Form Housemaster and English teacher in Yorkshire. However, he soon moved overseas where he was Head of English at Saltus Grammar School in Bermuda for twelve years. Upon his return to the UK, he made the move into prep school education and gained experience as Director of Studies, Housemaster and Deputy Head at IAPS schools before becoming Head of an IAPS co-educational day and boarding school. He has been an ISI inspector for over 20 years.
Term of governance expires on 31 August 2028.
