Our Nursery children were making the most of a rare break in the rain today in our glorious Forest School setting.
Led by Mrs Stableforth, mud painting was on the agenda, and our youngest pupils’ creativity shone. With some excellent artwork created, the group washed their hands before settling down for a well-deserved hot chocolate and snack.
Truro School Nursery is proud to offer exceptional Forest School provision, with four unique woodland spaces designed to inspire adventure, imagination and discovery.
Just beyond the Reception classroom lies the magical Enchanted Garden, complete with a storytelling circle and a secret woodland path to explore. Outside the Nursery classrooms, children can venture into the Wild Woods, where a fire circle, bamboo tunnel and willow den create the perfect setting for hands-on learning and outdoor exploration. In addition, two further woodland areas within the Prep grounds offer native trees and plants, along with plenty of space for pupils to learn, play and connect with nature.
Forest School sessions are led by specialist teacher Mrs Stableforth, a fully qualified teacher, and supported by two highly skilled and experienced Forest School Co-ordinators. Together, they deliver a rich and carefully planned outdoor learning programme.
Nursery and Reception children enjoy a dedicated Forest School session each week, lasting either a full morning or afternoon, while pupils in Years 1 and 2 take part in a full afternoon session every other week.
To find out more about our inspiring Nursery provision, you are welcome to join us for our forthcoming Truro School Prep Open Morning on Saturday 7th March from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Find out more and register your interest here.
