In a week of assessments and parent consultations, our pupils at Truro School Pre-Prep have been busy at work and play, showing great confidence, curiosity and creativity in their endeavours.
Our Nursery pupils have been practising writing their names and working on pencil control by following patterns. They have continued with their Land of Giant Animals, linking the topic into their music and Spanish lessons. In Forest School, the children have been developing their listening and teamwork skills by playing games in the Enchanted Garden.
Our Reception pupils have been exploring maps and, after reading ‘What the Ladybird Heard’, they made their own maps of the farmyard from the story. In music, the Reception classes have been exploring different rhythms and how different styles of music can make you feel. The children listened to Brahms’ ‘Lullaby’ and talked about how it can make us feel sleepy!
Year 1 have been learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores in their science lessons and thinking about how different animals are adapted to their diets. In art, they have been making clay animals and in maths they have been measuring using cubes.
Year 2 have been planting beans and cress and monitoring how the plants grow. They have also made a timeline of different inventions.
