With helicopters landing in the field and Big Adventures undertaken, it has been a busy last week of term at Truro School Pre-Prep.
In Nursery, we were amazed to see the helicopter land on our school field, and we couldn’t believe the noise that it made. To conclude the ‘Our Big Adventure’ topic, we discussed what modes of transport you could use for going on an adventure. After a lengthy discussion, we talked about using a campervan. Mrs Nixon kindly brought her very own campervan in for us to explore.
This week in music, Reception learned how to play ‘Hot Cross Buns’ and other nursery rhymes using simple notation with the hand bells. In maths, we had fun with maths quizzes, answering and discussing questions about different shapes.
This week in literacy, Year 1 had another practice at pluralising nouns, and we continued our learning on how to spell the days of the week. In science, we learned about day length and we explored the reasons why we have a nighttime and daytime.
The Year 2 pupils had an amazing day in the woods this week, where they built dens, had a woodland Pilates session, made collages with natural materials and had marshmallows on the campfire. We have also had a great time celebrating all things Cornish with our Cornwall Day!
On behalf of everyone from Truro School Pre-Prep, we would like to thank our incredible children, their families and all of our staff for their hard work and enthusiasm this year. We wish you all a wonderful summer.
