Virtual chat with Wasps hooker Tom Cruse

It was fantastic to welcome professional Rugby player and Wasps hooker Tom Cruse to a Truro School virtual chat. Tom has also played at London Irish, Sale and Rotherham (with our own Mr Sanderson), and was able to share his insights and experiences of being a professional rugby player to 80 of our rugby players from across all ages.

Topics discussed ranged from his own experiences of school sports, diet, training methods and the most important qualities in a teammate (hard-working, funny and trustworthy in case you were wondering!). Tom also shared with us his rugby journey and progression into the professional game, proving that being in the academy set up is not always needed. However, hard work, being coachable and self-belief will always be key ingredients to anyone’s success story. Once again, we’d like to say thank you to Tom for giving up his time and I know for a fact the boys were buzzing (bad Wasps pun, sorry!) to hear him speak.

Next week, we welcome back a former pupil and current England 7’s international, Noah Sixton, to talk about how it feels representing your country and his time in the 1st XV whilst at Truro School. 3pm, Wednesday, get your questions ready!!
