A huge congratulations to our U14 Football Team, who made history today as the first team from Cornwall ever to reach the prestigious ESFA PlayStation Schools’ Cup Final.
We are immensely proud of their incredible journey to the national final and of their performance on the pitch this afternoon. They worked tirelessly, playing to an exceptionally high standard right up to the final whistle.
It was a hard-fought match and a truly special moment, competing against Ludlow School at The Hawthorns, the home of West Bromwich Albion FC, in front of live coverage. A once-in-a-lifetime experience for our players, and a proud milestone for Truro School.
Although it was heartbreaking to concede in the final moments, we send our congratulations to Ludlow, worthy opponents in what the commentator rightly called “an excellent final between two great teams.”
In his post-match interview, Mr Glynn Hooper, Head of Football, said: “I am incredibly proud of the boys today. Both teams gave everything – it was a lifetime opportunity to play at a Premier League ground and I couldn’t be prouder, not only of the boys here today but of all the players who play football at Truro School, and of the staff who support them every step of the way.”
Well done to our U14s:
