Rugby
The U14 and U18 7s teams travelled to Rosslyn Park for a Rugby 7s tournament. The Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens is the world’s largest school rugby tournament, with over 15,000 players aged 11–18 competing each year since its founding in 1939.
Facing particularly strong groups, both teams performed with impressive quality, scoring a number of excellent team tries and producing moments of real brilliance. Throughout the day, both teams remained positive, supportive and resilient. A huge thanks to all the coaches and parents for their continued support.
The Truro School U12 rugby team delivered an outstanding performance to secure victory at the Arthur Dodd County Rugby 7s Tournament, marking an impressive achievement for the talented and determined squad. From the opening match, the team set a high standard with fast-paced, attacking rugby in a competitive group stage. Their energy, cohesion and confidence were evident throughout, with well-worked team tries contributing to victories over Falmouth, Cape Cornwall and Newquay Treviglas, alongside a hard-fought draw against a strong Camborne side.
The knockout rounds tested the squad’s resilience, but Truro School rose to the challenge. Strong defensive displays, intelligent decision-making and moments of attacking flair saw them progress through both the quarter-final and semi-final, earning a place in the final and a rematch with Camborne.
In the final, Truro produced their most composed performance of the day. Demonstrating strong leadership, creativity and a relentless work rate, they took control early and maintained their advantage to secure a memorable victory.
The success reflected the collective effort, determination and excellent team spirit shown throughout the tournament, a proud moment for Truro School Rugby and a promising sign for the future.
