On Sunday, the Cathedral Choir began its new year, with more new choir members than ever before! For the first time, Senior Boy choristers are singing alongside our back row, in a parallel programme to our existing Senior Girl choristers. This exciting step means we can now support a wider range of singing opportunities at different ages for boys and girls who love singing.
We welcomed many talented young musicians to our ranks: choristers Clemmie, Freyja, Oliver and Polly, and senior choristers Jenny, Mia, Niamh, Alfie, Harris, Jack, Kes, Logan, Ollie, Thomas and Trystan. Our wonderful new Choral Scholars are Charlotte, Ewan, Sebastian and Toby, and our Organ Scholar is Mitchell.
It was a particular pleasure to install our Head Choristers: Albert, Daniel, Noah, Rupert, Tristan, Lydia and Farrah – we know you will all be fantastic leaders and inspirational role models for your peers.
As we get back into our daily choir routine, it is a privilege to be making music again in the acoustics of the Cathedral after our summer break. Thank you so much to all our new choir families, supporters, Truro School, and our Cathedral Dean & Chapter.
There is such an exciting year ahead of us, and we can’t wait to share all the achievements of our choir team.
All best wishes,
James
