Talent, Courage and Confidence at House Music Competition

It was a fantastic end to the half term as our talented and courageous musicians took to the stage for the 2026 Truro School Prep House Music Competition.

Our finalists, who all take music lessons at Truro School Prep, performed in front of their peers, showcasing drums, violin and singing with a programme ranging from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Disney and pop classics.

Each performance was judged by guest adjudicator Mrs Charlotte Banks, Reception teacher and keen musician from Truro School Pre-Prep. After some dubious jokes from Mr Morse, Mrs Banks gave thoughtful and constructive feedback to each of the competitors to help them to grow in their performances, praising all of them for their bravery and musicality.

Well done to Clemmie, Kai and Coco (representing School House), Pippa, Theo and Sofia (representing Smith House), Arabella, Wilbo and Winnie (representing Vinter House) and Freyja, Malhar and Ollie (representing Wickett House).

Certificates for stand-out performances were given to Winnie, Arabella, Wilbo and Malhar.

Despite so much talent, there could only be one winner, and the cup was presented to the overall champion, Theo, representing Smith House.

Thank you to Mrs Banks, Ms Renshaw, Mr MacQuarrie, Mr Holland and all of the staff, parents and family members who came along to support the performers, and well done again to all of our wonderful musicians.
