Our Year 5 pupils travelled up to the Senior School for their Thursday afternoon pool activities session. The session focused on building confidence in the water and improving stamina and stroke technique. It is also a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to explore the Senior School site and familiarise themselves with the setting ahead of their transition in Year 7.
Next week, they will be looking at survival skills, helping them master self-rescue techniques and how to manage emergencies in the water.
These sessions form a part of the carousel of exciting activities available to our Year 5 pupils every Thursday afternoon, which this term also includes kayaking, coppicing, cycling and multisports. This carefully designed, rich co-curricular programme helps foster key personal and practical skills in our pupils, with a focus on developing the whole child and smoothing the transition from early childhood into confident, resilient learners.
