Barton Hall Adventures for Year 5

Our intrepid Year 5 pupils started the term in style with an unforgettable residential trip to Barton Hall in Devon.

Across three action-packed days and two nights, the children threw themselves into a fantastic range of activities which saw steady nerves on the high ropes, team building skills in the raft making and shared moments around the campfire.

Trips like these play a vital role in a child’s development. Beyond the fun, they provide invaluable opportunities for pupils to build independence, grow in confidence, develop resilience, and strengthen their teamwork skills. It was wonderful to see our pupils supporting one another, stepping outside their comfort zones, and returning with a real sense of achievement.

This experience is just one part of the rich programme of trips and visits offered at Truro School Prep. Every year group benefits from a wide range of opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, from outdoor adventures and local educational visits to creative and cultural experiences. Our younger Pre-Prep pupils enjoy regular outings that spark curiosity and imagination, while older pupils take part in increasingly ambitious residentials and challenges.

A particular highlight is the Year 6 trip to France, an experience that combines cultural exploration and creating lasting memories with friends.

We were incredibly proud of the courage, camaraderie, and confidence shown by every pupil at Barton Hall, and their behaviour throughout was outstanding. A huge thank you to both staff and pupils for making it such a memorable experience.
