Maths Kangaroo Success

We’re delighted to share the results of the Pink and Grey Kangaroo Maths Challenge for pupils at Truro School.

Pupils achieved an impressive number of Gold and Silver awards, with girls particularly well represented. Cici earned the highest score in the school for the Pink Kangaroo (Years 10–11). Aiden also performed exceptionally, securing a top score in the Grey Kangaroo and a Gold award—despite being a year younger than the usual entry group. Congratulations as well to Sarang for achieving a Merit, and to Ayden and Verity for their Gold awards.

These competitions are follow-on rounds to the Intermediate Maths Challenge, with the Pink and Grey Kangaroos featuring multiple-choice problem-solving questions. Entry is by invitation, based on a qualifying IMC score, or through discretionary selection. The aim of the Kangaroo competitions is to promote a love of mathematics among young people worldwide, with around six million participants each year.
