A-Level Geographers Explore Urban Regeneration

Year 12 A-Level Geography students visited Plymouth to collect fieldwork data for their Non-Examined Assessment (NEA). The trip offered pupils a first-hand look at urban regeneration and city dynamics, starting at the Royal William Yard, where they examined how historic spaces have been repurposed for modern use.

The group then explored the Barbican, gathering data to help them assess whether Plymouth could be considered a ‘Clone or a Home’ town.

In the afternoon, students investigated the city’s Central Business District to identify zones of discord, collecting evidence to support their analysis of urban patterns and challenges.

Students were exemplary in their behaviour throughout the day, showing great focus and collaboration during fieldwork. Many thanks to the Geography teachers for organising and supporting the trip, providing an invaluable opportunity to link classroom learning with real-world geography.
