Truro City Football Club hosted the National League Trust Open County Primary Finals at Truro School last week for local Cornish Primary Schools.
Thursday saw girls’ teams from across the county compete, and on Friday, Truro School Prep joined the competition, alongside pupils from St Mewan, St Breock, Parc Eglos, Mount Hawke, Archbishop Benson, Tregolls and St Agnes.
The initiative is part of Truro City Football Club’s Community Trust. Players Billy and Rakel joined the celebration to present medals to the winning teams and to shake hands and meet all of the participants.
After fierce competition in the boys’ round, resulting in a penalty shootout in the semi-final, St Agnes took the win, with a score of 11-10 against Parc Eglos. The team has qualified to play in the next round, held at Yeovil, where they will be playing against other schools from the Southwest region. Each winning player was presented with a TCFC Community Trust kit to play in next time.
TCFC have expressed a thank you to Truro School for the use of the facility and to Mr Hooper for his assistance.
Congratulations to all pupils who took part.
