Welcoming the Year of the Snake in Pre-Prep

Our Pre-Prep pupils welcomed in the Year of the Snake for the Lunar New Year as they busied themselves with a raft of creative activities.

Dressed in red party clothes (thought to bring good fortune during the New Year), the children crafted dragon puppets and slippery snakes, learnt to write the numbers 1-5 in Mandarin, practised using chopsticks and made Tangram pictures.

It was a fabulous way for our youngest pupils to learn about this holiday, one of the most important in the Chinese calendar and widely celebrated across the globe.
