Prep Conker Championship Strikes Again

The Truro School Prep Conker Championship is now in its third year, and the competition is stronger than ever. The 2026 Championships kicked off on the playground at breaktime on Monday, with pupils first eagerly lining up in the library to claim their champion conker, and Mr and Mrs Morse on hand to help with distribution, fair play and last-minute repairs.

It has been wonderful to see the care pupils are taking, not only to keep everyone safe, but also to ensure fair competition and to support each other in victory and defeat.

The Championships have quickly become a highlight of the autumn term, giving pupils the chance to enjoy friendly competition, time outdoors and the season itself. Conker battles, an activity often restricted elsewhere, also let pupils experience risk in a safe environment, and at Truro School Prep we believe activities like this build the confidence, resilience and sound judgement children need beyond the classroom.

Perhaps best of all, the Championships bring pupils together across year groups, sparking new friendships and teamwork and strengthening our Prep community.
