The sun and our pupils have shone brightly this week in Truro School Pre-Prep.
In Nursery, we have been exploring ways to draw ourselves and our families. We’ve used lots of different methods, including drawing using a mirror. We have also been using bikes and scooters in the playground. We have been balancing and using our teamwork skills to take turns, share space and negotiate different paths.
In Reception this week, we have been discussing the various jobs that dogs perform, while in maths, we have been exploring early addition and subtraction by using conkers to fill and empty 5-frames.
In Year 1 maths this week, we are developing fluency when counting backwards in ones. We are also learning how to count in 10s. In science, we are learning how animals have adapted to their different environments. During our music lesson, we have had great fun counting the syllables in our name and creating a musical rhythm.
This week in Year 2 maths, we have been exploring 2-digit numbers and learning how to use the ‘less than’ and ‘greater than’ symbols. We have also been exploring the story of Romulus and Remus and the founding of the city of Rome.
