Weekly News from Pre-Prep 23.05.25

As another fantastic half term draws to a close at Truro School Prep, our incredible pupils have been as busy as ever.

With the exciting news of the baby robins hatching last week, our Nursery pupils have spent time observing how they move and how they have grown. We have created chalk footprint trails around the building and gone on our own little adventures. We have also made lots of time for reading our favourite books.

This week, Reception has been preparing for our trip to the Tate in St Ives. We have been looking at maps and the different journeys we take. We have been learning even more about numbers, focusing on odds and evens.

In maths, Year 1 has been busy consolidating our understanding of fractions of shapes and went on a shape hunt in the side woods. We have then used our knowledge to find fractions of amounts. With the lovely weather and lots of plant growth, we have studied the different parts of common plants and what they need to grow.

Our Year 2 classes have continued our transition work, preparing for Year 3. We have been spending more and more of our day using the different areas in the Prep School. We have started learning parts of our end-of-year assembly, but ssshhhh, it’s a secret!
